It's hard enough for local school districts to deal with the many problems facing them. Toss in the federal government's meddling, and a difficult task is made even worse.
Rep. Jeff Miller should take the Escambia School District's struggles back to Washington, D.C., in a call for reform of the poorly named "No Child Left Behind" federal education program.
With poverty and military families causing school population figures to fluctuate at a high level, the federal government's ham-handed introduction of limited "choice" has only made things worse.
